Pilgrimages

Croke Patrick

Pilgrimage is a journey of great significance. It is a journey to a sacred place or shrine of importance to a person's beliefs and faith. In Slí Eile we aspire to follow in the many footsteps of our ancestors and offer a number of choices for you to join with us.

Santiago de Compostela in Spain

frank.brady@sli-eile.com or 01-888 0606

The Camino de Santiago de Compostela is one of the great Pilgrimage routes going back to the middle ages. It is situated in the province of Galicia in the north-west of Spain and was once considered the third most important place of Christian pilgrimage after Rome and Jerusalem. This physical challenge is part of an ancient tradition and is the destination of thousands of pilgrims who have been walking the Camino for centuries. It requires some physical training but is an opportunity not to be missed!

Magis means ‘more’ or ‘better’ and is the Jesuit-run lead up experience to the World Youth Day in Australia 2008. It involves pilgrimages, working with marginalised groups in Australia and South East Asia and good fun!
