Like all organic life, we grow from children to adolescents to adults. This is not merely physically, like plants and animals, but psychologically, intellectually and socially. This is both exciting and challenging. Often life itself is our greatest teacher (we believe that God is in life, in reality; God is in us, in situations and people we meet). We are asked to grow and work our way through tough times, to transform difficult situations and to be able to go beyond our limitations. We have to have worked on ourselves, our emotions, our knowledge, our limits, in order to be truly human and compassionate. This is because the world needs people who are authentic, real and generous- people who have developed to a point where they can help others, make a better world, and take on challenges that life throws at us.
