Groups of 6-8 people meet weekly to explore and discover what this 'spirituality' thing is all about. They learn about themselves, from each other, and how God might be working in their lives. With the help of experienced guides, the programme follows the highpoints of the Slí Eile Calendar year that includes retreats, workshops on theology and personal development, and an experience of working with marginalised groups. Those involved in Discover can participate for one, two or three years.

Through Slí Eile Zamcraft, the selling in Ireland of crafts made my local artists in Zambia, volunteers make a small but significant contribution to fair trade. All Volunteers get a chance to reflect on their experience of working with people who are disadvantaged, learn more about the intimate connection between justice and faith, and get an insight into the reasons for some of the inequalities in Irish society today.

The concern for Justice rightly expresses itself in more overtly political actions at times. Slí Eile has been actively involved in the Anti-War in Iraq demonstration and the Make Poverty History Campaign. Slí Eile will continue to campaign for justice and align itself with other Jesuit, Catholic and Christian organisations working for peace and justice in our world.
